Of course, the first thing that you have to accomplish is to learn how to be a good photographer. People think that this is a very simplistic advice, but obviously it is not. Obviously, as with everything, if you would want to be a success in what you are currently doing, then you have to work hard for it. As important as being a good photographer and knowing how to take pictures is, being good with customers is important as well. You have to realize photography is a people business. Lastly, you have to be able to know the exact time when a great shot is coming up. This is more of an intuitive skill, but knowing exactly when it will occur will get you great shots. Another thing you can do is plan to have more time for the wedding photos. What this gives you is the opportunity to cover or hide yourself when it is showering.You can hurriedly take photos when the rain lets up.  I have had to do this several times as a San Diego photographer.  It isn’t the best way to take photographs but it will work.

Finally you must already have set up umbrellas.Sometimes the weather will not let up and umbrellas will let you take them anyway.  In my San Diego portrait photographer business we already have umbrellas ready for many reasons.In reality taking pictures with overcast skies look really great in photos.  So it isn’t all bad.

One of the biggest jobs that you cang et is the wedding.This is big because the pictures which can be memories for the couple will depend on you.  As a San Diego photographer the best way to get your first job is to network.There a lot of people who get married everytime.And there are many people out there who knows someone who will get married.If you would just speak up about the job that you do then you can get the first photography job you are looking for in no time.Most of the time the first gig you will get is through a referral.

The next big thing aside from wedding shoots is landing some corporate shoots.This job is very hard to land because hirers usually want an experienced one to do this kind of job.  As a San Diego corporate photographer the way I got my first job was to look for smaller companies.  Smaller companies usually have smaller budgets so they might not be able to afford more expensive photographers.This is a very good chance for you to land the job because they might as well give you the responsibility to do the job.

Finally there are other events or portrait types of jobs that you can still take.There are many big events out there which you can try.  As a event photography San Diego service I got my foot wet by taking photos of events.These jobs had no pay but the goal was to build up my portfolio.  This way people could see my work and trust me to do a good job.
