Doctor Gregory House knows that everyone has heard his name, not just because he is the star character in a popular television program, but because his name also happens to be a noun. This kind of statement is a perfect snippet of his humor and why I love him – a certain witty arrogance, a sardonic humor that makes him a horror when it comes to bedside manner and irresistible as a character. There is always more than one mystery to solve in an episode of House: the medical mystery presented and another mystery never mentioned; that of the various social and romantic tensions between the characters which only occasionally bubble to the surface in resolve. The complex characterization and gripping medical drama of House, MD surpasses any other program and if you haven’t seen it, it’s certainly worth watching. Such a drama is easily a primary topic of conversation amongst my friends, a show whose content is dropped so frequently over meals that the entire plot might as well be a noun.
